The clip of Northfort starts out in a church showing the view of the priest looking at the congregation, and then switches to the view of the people showing not only the church but also the scenery around the church. This creates a peaceful understanding of where the gathering is held. A sense of freedom with no responsibility, however it then changes when they all have to leave town. This can show that the previous scene is one of being detached from their world. We move forward to a scene showing a boy that seems to be running in a different direction of the herd of buffalo. TO me this showed that the boy was not a follower. Whether everyone was heading in the right or wrong direction, the boy did not want to follow them and in a sense rebelled against what everyone else was doing and made his own path, following his own journey. The final scene we took a look at created a depressed mood. Moving the coffin on top of a car did not seem like a traditional way to transport the dead. However, in the world that they lived in this could have been the way that they did things. Just my opinion, this did not seem very traditional to the way that I see things in our world today.
The next clip we took a look at was of Paris Texas. The scenery was very beautiful but it was in a desert. The background in the various scenes that we took a look at were very important because they took a lot of work to put the background where they were and how they were inspired made it also seem like the effort that was taken to make these scenes were very important. We took a look at the guitar that was playing in the background. It created a sad moment that there was nothing for him to look forward to. The image of the shoes on block walls symbolizes a form of traveling. Once we move to the scene on the freeway we see the man looking down at all the cars that are driving by, looking at the freeway, airport with binoculars just as he did back in the desert. You mentioned that your favorite scene was when he stopped to listen to the guy. He patted him on the back and showed some sympathy for him without knowing anything about who he was or what he was going through. The scene where he goes to meet his wife is a very complex scene. He is talking to her thought a mirror and the only way to communicate with her was by way of phone. This connected them verbally. The barrier that is dividing them makes it so the only way to communicate is by phone, she cannot see him she can only see herself in the mirror. She thinks that it is just another customer and does not know that it is her husband even though he can see her. He tries to turn off the light to see if she can see him which symbolizes another barrier that is between the two, light.
