Morgan Arnold Easter or Bunny Day? April 24, 2011

As I conclude my blogs on this Easter Sunday, I feel it is only appropriate to finish with my views on Easter. Easter is such a bitter-sweet holiday for me. The actual message of Easter makes it my absolute favorite holiday. What is more beautiful than celebrating, in fellowship, the resurrection of my Savior? However, the majority of our society makes this day about pastel polos, colorful eggs, and a bunny. This is absolutely heartbreaking to me. One of my friends asked me if I would go see the newest movie out called “Hop.” As she is a fellow believer, I was horrified that she would ask me to see that! Haha. Okay, I may be exaggerating (a lot) but just the trailer of that film makes my sick to my stomach. So, I went to find a Christian perspective of the film and was pleased to find decent reviews. I am torn as to whether to tolerate films such as this, because they are cute/amusing and “does speak to the importance of keeping that relationship strong, one full of love and respect” or if I should continue to my belief that we should not twist the meanings of these holidays. Check out the review for yourself and Happy Easter. He is risen!!
