Tyler McElhenny- K-Pax

I had never seen the movie K-Pax before but I thought it was a really interesting film. The end left the audience to interpret if K-Pax actually existed and whether Prot was actually an alien. Personally, I think that Prot was actually an alien and that he was just using Robert Porter’s body while he was on Earth. I came to this conclusion because at the end of the film, Dr. Powell found Porter’s body but he was deceased. The body of Bess was missing and I believe that Prot left in her flesh. I know this sounds a little weird but it is a science fiction movie and that’s what happened. When Prot told Dr. Porter to take care of his body, that was the deciding factor for me. Earlier in the film, Prot said he looked like a human because that is the most efficient way to live on Earth. In my opinion, he found Porter’s body and used it to its capacity. Another factor was the vacation the Prot took during the film. Powell wasn’t able to locate him and this obviously points to the sign that he wasn’t there. I think this was a good movie and it left a lot up to your own interpretation and imagination.
