PROCRASTINATION. I’m talking about the procrastination it took to actually keep up with this blog. I was supposed to have been posting one or two times a week for the entire semester, and now I find myself frantically making up for lost time to make the Sunday deadline. I’ve tried keeping up with a blog before, and failed. As I get ready to finish undergrad—with it a series of memories attached to a long string of procrastination-filled moments—I want to note a few things on which I wish to improve upon in the coming years as I work on my higher education.
1. Be Happy – I need to stop worrying so much, focusing on the things that go wrong, and focus more on the many things that go right.
2. Be Healthier – Wow. I’ve fallen off of the exercise wagon for way too many months now. Especially moving to Florida, I need to get my ass back in shape.
3. Begin Investing – I’m no longer a “college kid.” While I see myself as amazingly fiscally responsible and haven’t needed a dime from my Dad (nor have I seen one) since freshman year, it’s time to start looking at the future.
4. Be a better reader – Yes, I know, I’m in college. I read. But I don’t enjoy it like I use to. I need to make more time to read for fun.
5. Be a better dancer – Anybody want to teach me how to freakin dance? I suck at it, and I don’t want to embarrass myself at my own wedding one day.
6. Be a better musician – I miss my flute. It’s been sitting in my closet for over a year now. I want to put out my music and get back into it.
7. Be more stylish – This kind of ties into my “be healthier” resolution. As I will be teaching next year, I need to learn how to be professionally stylish ALL THE TIME and get out of the sweatpants.
8. Become a motorcyclist – Why not?
